Increasing Life Chances 4 You

My name is Carl L. Young, MS the owner of Increasing Life Chances 4 You. I am a doctoral scholar and PhD student at Grand Canyon University in behavioral health with an emphasis in organizational leadership. 

I have earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science, World History and Sociology: Corrections from Minnesota State University – Mankato. 

I have extensive experience working in the mental health field, as a case manager, youth advocate, behavioral specialist and mental health practitioner. 

I have been fortunate to work with a variety of cultures and with adolescents, adults and families and I am dedicated and motivated to increasing the life chances of those I work with while providing culturally responsive services addressing the whole person. 

I specialize in working with those that are survivors of trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, neglect, mental/physical abuse, domestic abuse, struggling with life transitions anxiety and depression and those needing just that little “push and guidance” to help them move forward toward accomplishing their personal and professional goals. 

My experiences have provided me with the insight, knowledge and skills that many of my clients would benefit as a mental health counselor/life coach that would assist them in developing basic life skills and improving their mental health outlook. 

My passion is to improve my client’s success professionally, personally, in school and at home; thereby increasing their life chances. 

I am dedicated to addressing issues of diversity and equity in the mental health system and advocate for clients that may need culturally competent life coaching and mental health support. 

I am also an active board member with Great River Family Promise Family Shelter, a community response for children and families experiencing homelessness and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

We are committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent people from accessing the tools they need to succeed. 

Through collaboration with partners, stakeholders, and the communities we serve, we aim to create sustainable change that not only improves lives today but also for future generations.
